“Each new thing learned about God is a new reason for loving him.”
Frank Sheed (1897–1981) was one of the most famous Catholic apologists of the 20th century. The Australian-born lawyer, writer, and speaker was popular for his sharp intellect and striking talent for clear communication. Sheed and his wife, Maisie Ward, founded the Sheed & Ward publishing house in London, which became well known for its large apologetics selection. Sheed wrote more than 20 books, many of which are praised as some of the best theological works ever written. His books include Theology for Beginners, To Know Jesus Christ, and A Map of Life. An incredibly influential speaker and writer, Sheed is regarded by many as equal to G.K. Chesterton and C.S. Lewis in his passion for the faith and his skill in defending it.
