This week we focused on the best way to live, and we’ve talked about our deepest desires. Yesterday Jennifer shared from her own life how God has placed deep desires on her heart to help her discover, over time, the best way to live.

We’re at the halfway point of Best Advent Ever. Next week Dominick will be here, and he’ll help share with us how to become the-best-version-of-yourself.

Now, to help you discover your deepest desires, I’ve got a great exercise for you this weekend, focusing on your dreams.

So, just a couple of steps.

Number one, I’d like for you to enter into the classroom of silence. Be in a place where you can tune out the noise of the world and really listen carefully for what matters most. You’re listening for that still, small voice.

Secondly, I’d like you to have something to write things down with, a piece of paper and a pen. Writing down your dreams, you’re listening and writing down the dreams that you and God have. Big dreams, small dreams. Remember, there’s no right and wrong. And I’d like you to do that for four areas of your life: your physical life, your emotional life, your intellectual life, and your spiritual life.

Physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual. You’re listening in silence and writing down the dreams that you and God share, those hopes for your life. You’re listening for what matters most.

Now is your time to prepare. You are where you are right now for a reason. You’re doing this program right now for a reason. We encourage you to search your heart and become intimately aware of your legitimate needs, your deepest desires, and your talents. What are your dreams? Write them out. Look at each area of your life—physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual—and talk to God about them. Then start writing down your dreams, big and small, for this Christmas and beyond.
