Welcome to Advent. And on behalf of everyone here at Dynamic Catholic, we hope this will be your
best Advent ever.
Advent, it's a time of preparation. If you think back on the year, what’s the most important thing
that happened to you this year? Or, what was the most important thing you did this year, and how
did you prepare for it?
We prepare for everything that's important in life. We prepare for everything we consider to be
important in life. And that's why the Church gives us these moments of preparation both in Advent
and in Lent to prepare for these enormous spiritual encounters that we have at Christmas and
As we make our journey towards Christmas together this year, we're going to be using some incredible
content from Allen Hunt's Bible study called Turning Point. The Bible study is the first Bible
study we've ever produced here at Dynamic Catholic, it's based on the Gospel of John, and it's been
created and presented by Allen Hunt, who's an incredible teacher, an amazing speaker, has been a
great friend to me, and a great friend to Dynamic Catholic.
I'm so excited for you to experience Allen in this program and the content that he's put together in
Turning Point. I really do believe that if you commit yourself to this program every day this
Advent, that this Advent will be a turning point for you, a turning point for something in your
life that you want God to come in and transform.
We all have these things in our lives that we're wrestling with. We all have questions that we're
struggling with. We all need a turning point, and it's great for us during this time of Advent to
step back, think about who we are and what we're here for, what matters most and what matters
least, so that we're not rushing into Christmas, so that we're not frazzled as we show up to church
on Christmas Eve or on Christmas Day, but so that we move into Christmas with hope and peace and
with great intentionality. Allen Hunt’s gonna help you do that.
On this first day of the Church’s year, on this first day of Advent, I want to talk to you a little
bit about preparing. How do you prepare for Christmas? We prepare for Christmas through this season
of Advent, but what does that mean to you every day? Hopefully this will give you the focus to
think about doing something, however small, every day to prepare your heart, to prepare your mind,
to receive Jesus in a new way this Christmas.
Thanks for joining us. Hope you have an incredible Advent. And remember: Be bold. Be Catholic.
